New Delhi, June 26 (IANS) A 19-year-old man was shot dead by his colleague here after an argument between them turned violent, police said Sunday.

 
 The incident occurred late Sunday in Gokulpuri area of east Delhi where Jai Prakash, hailing from Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh, was living with his two brothers and some friends.
 
 Shanty, 20, who worked in a factory with Prakash, had a heated argument with the latter outside his home.
 
 "The argument between the two turned ugly and Shanty, who was carrying a country-made pistol with him, shot Prakash in the chest. Hearing the gunshot sound Prakash's brother and his friends came out of the house. Shanty fled the spot, however, his weapon fell on the spot," a police officer said.
 
 Prakash was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injures.
 
 "We have arrested Shanty and his questioning is on," the officer added.
