Man arrested for duping youth
New Delhi, Sep 28 (IANS) A sacked Haryana government engineer has been arrested for duping some youth on the pretext of providing them a job with the Indian Railways, police said Wednesday.
Balbir Singh Jakhar, 52 a resident of Bhiwani, Haryana was arrested Sep 23 from Rajasthan.
He would tempt unemployed youth with an assurance of a government job and in return, demand a hefty commission, said police.
“He recently duped four men when he gave them fake appointment letters for the job of ticket checker in railways in return of Rs. 12 lakh,” a police official said.
According to police, when the victims went to join their job in West Bengal, they were arrested for producing fake appointment letters.
Later, when released on bail, they lodged a complaint against Jakhar upon reaching Delhi.
According to police, the accused was working as executive engineer in Haryana government, a job that he got on the basis of a fake diploma and degree. He was sacked in July 2009.
