Kolkata, May 24 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Tuesday made a surprise visit to the state's biggest super-specialty hospital - SSKM - and interacted with the doctors and the patients of the emergency ward.

 
 "The chief minister paid a surprise visit to SSKM. We were not informed about her visit. She interacted with doctors, patients and relatives of the patients in the emergency ward. She was in the hospital campus for 7-8 minutes," SSKM superintendent Prabash Chakroborty told IANS.
 
 State-run SSKM caters to a large number of patients everyday.
 
 Banerjee herself holds the health portfolio.
