Madain Saleh

Madain Saleh is a pre-Islamic archaeological site situated in the Al -Ula inside Saudi Arabia’s Al Madinah region.

World Hertiage site

In the year 2008, UNESCO declared Madain Saleh as a world heritage site. Madain Saleh was selected by UNESCO due to its well maintained remnants from the late antiquity particularly the 131 monumental tombs (rock-cut) with their ornately decorated concealments belonging to the Nabatean era.

Red sandstones

A significant feature you can find at Madain Saleh is the place is filled with rocks that are made up of red sandstone. You will find these sandstones distributed across the entire area in a stylish manner.

Another striking feature you can find in this place is the most fertile and beautiful desert oasis found in these north western parts of Saudi Arabia.
