Chennai, June 2 (IANS) Hitting out at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK chief J. Jayalalithaa for demanding the resignation of union Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, the DMK asked her to look at her own record, noting that she was facing a graft case in a Bangalore court.

 
 In a statement here, the DMK asked whether Jayalalithaa resigned as chief minister to face the court cases filed against her, adding she should look at herself before making any such demands.
 
 Jayalalithaa Wednesday told reporters that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should seek the resignation of Maran, accused of receiving kickbacks for issuing a 2G licence to a private operator when he was communications minister 2004-07, or the DMK leader should put in his papers and face charges levied against him.
 
 The Bharatiya Janata Party had alleged that Sun TV Network belonging to Maran's brother Kalanithi Maran was an indirect beneficiary of the decisions taken by him during his tenure as communications minister between May 26, 2004 and May 14, 2007.
 
 According to BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad, Malaysian company Maxis Communication bought 74 percent stake in Aircel during Maran's tenure and the company was later allotted more circles to operate, after it invested around Rs.600 crore in Sun DTH belong to Sun TV Network through its subsidiary Astro.
 
 Meanwhile, D. Pandian, the secretary of Communist Party of India's (CPI) Tamil Nadu unit, also Thursday demanded the resignation of Maran.
 
 He condemned the inaction of the union government on the matter despite the complaints against Maran for the past several months.
