LG Launched its Prime: The Optimus PAD Tablet PC
There is quite a tight competition among companies today to produce the best, most economical and practical Tablet PC for its gadget-hungry consumers. Take a look into one company’s attempt at besting their rivals.
LG has now launched the LG Optimus Pad Tablet with a 8.9”capacitive touch screen display that offers uncompromised viewing and powered by the latest Android v3 Honeycomb operating system.
This tablet features a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution that can be used with one hand. It also offers a full 1080p HD video decoding, and provides a one-of-a kind multimedia experience. The LG Optimus Pad runs on 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with 3D hardware accelerator that promises fast internet browsing and quick start ups with the apps.
It boasts of a 32GB internal memory, accelerometer for screen rotation, multi-touch screen, proximity sensor, digital compass, Gyroscope and light sensor that adjusts automatically. The Tablet has 2G GSM Quad-band and 3G HSDPA 10.2 MHz; it is the first tablet that features a 5.0 megapixel 3D digital camera with auto focus that captures photos and video in full 1080p HD that can be views on HDMI digital out port. It also has a front facing camera for video calls.
Apart from this, it also comes with YouTube 3D app that is preloaded for the Android operating system. The tablet is capable of streaming contents in 3D including data captured by your Optimus 3D smartphone. For connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/N, DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0 port for wired connectivity and charging.
Other than these feature, the LG Optimus Pad Tablet PC also has built-in GPS with A-GPS support, a HDMI digital out port, 3.5mm standard audio out port, audio player that supports MP3s, AAC, AMR, ACC+, video player capable of H.263, H.264 and MPEG4; it also has built-in Facebook, Twitter, and Picasa, document viewer, and access to the Android Market containing more than 100,000 apps – both free and paid.
Shipping began last March 2011 in US market but price and availability has not been released.
