K-Tic arranged Picnic to Abdali Farms


Kuwait Tamil Islamic Committee (K-Tic), a non-profit socio welfare organization of Tamil speaking Muslim community in Kuwait, (established in 2006 - registered with Indian Embassy of Kuwait and also with Kuwait Ministry of Awqaaf and Islamic Affairs, Administration of Grand Mosque and Administration of Mosques Department).

K-Tic has a impressive name among the socio-welfare organizations in Kuwait and Gulf countries whose benevolent works and enlightening activities and conserving Islamic uniqueness and also well known with the thousands of Indians especially all Tamil speaking people in Kuwait.

Since last year K-Tic organizes picnic trips on the Eid Holidays. Last year K-Tic members and family enjoyed the “Failaka Island”. This year K-Tic arranged a picnic for its members and their families on Monday 7th November 2011, to the “Abdali Farms” which is about 150 KMs from Kuwait City. The six-lane highway (to & fro) between Kuwait andIraq, officially known as Highway 80, runs from Kuwait City to the border town of Safwan of Iraq and then on to Basra-the historical city. Abdali is situated on the border of Kuwait just before Safwan.

After celebrating Eid Al Adha, the next day K-Tic members and their family gathered at K-Tic's Tamil Khutbah Masjid, Khaithan at 9:30 am. In two coaster buses and a jeep about 12 families and youngsters, the trip started to Abdali.

The trip supported with adhering to travel conspiracies, dua’as, pursuing the leadership, short topics on current Islamic subjects, etc. and reached Abdali at about 11:00 am. Then had a short tea time and prayed Dhuhar prayer in the Masjid located in the farm.

Then we had a long walk about 2kms within the farm. The gathering was leaded by Br. H. Mohammed Nasar (Joint Tressurer, K-Tic), supported by K-Tic's Secretaries Br. A. Mohammed Siraajudeen, Br. A. Nizaamudeen and other administrators of K-Tic.

Br. A. Mohammed Farooq, employee of the farm explained the construction of those artificial farms in the dry deserts, shaded and cooled internal farming methods, retaining and irrigating with water resources for the farm supplied by the Kuwait government and also showed the oozing water from deep wells inside the farm. Various herbs and plants like tomato, brinjal (eggplant), capsicum, cucumber, etc. were grown on drip irrigation system.

All the members, ladies, kids and children enjoyed the farm in the pleasant climatic situation. Sprinkling rain with clouded sun enhanced kids enjoy more. The ladies had more fun and admired the Rose garden in the farm. Moving around, children admired the Horses in Plainfield Stables, hundreds of Sheep and Goats in their pen.

Later on lunch break was given shared and served. Asr prayer was conducted and followed by a short lecture was given by K-Tic's Vice President Moulavee M. Zainul Aabideen Baaqavee. He headed the Islamic Quiz conducted by Br. A.KS.. Abdul Nazar (Dy. Gen. Secretary, K-Tic) and supported by Br. M. Zahir Hussain (Treasurer, K-Tic). Moulavee A.B. Khaleel Ahmed Baaqavee (General Secretary, K-Tic) convened the interesting stage-speech workshop as a discussion round within the members and their families.

After praying the Magrib in the Masjid, departed from Abdali and reached back to Khaithan, thus enjoying and observing the trip, thanking Almighty for making safe and perceive picnic.
