Kisan credit cards to be used as debit card and deposit account.

The KCC (Kisan Credit Cards) used by nearly 10 crore farmers can now enjoy the facility of using the card both as a debit card as well as deposit account. This new method will also assist to expand quickly the financial inclusion plan of the Government without depending alone on the bank accounts.


The KCC assists in quick credit delivery to the farmers. It functions similar to overdraft account through a bank, and by means of a withdrawal slip or cheque book it has to be operated.


An official belonging to the ministry of finance said that they are working to refurbish the KCC’s present concept. This revamping method provides more financial liberty to the farmers, and the cards can be utilized at different point of sales.


The refurbished card will possess both the deposit account and credit card features, thereby minimizing the several accounts in a bank.


Interest credit will be provided by the banks to the farmers with the balances of credit to cheer them to remit into their KCC account the farm sale proceeds.
