Kerala to host meet on money laundering
New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) Over 300 senior government officials from across the world are likely to attend Asian Pacific Group's 14th annual meeting on money laundering to be held July 18-22 in Cochin, Kerala, an official statement said Friday.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will make the opening address at the meeting July 19.
The 10th annual technical assistance and training forum of the Asia Pacific Group would also be held during the same period at the same venue.
“The meeting will provide a platform for high-level discussion and co-operation, and will evaluate the progress made by Asian Pacific Group members in implementing the international standards to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism,” finance ministry said in the statement.
“The size and range of participation demonstrates the continued commitment of Asian Pacific Group members to combat these serious transnational crimes,” it said.
