Karnataka Rajyotsava by Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah
The vibrant Kannada Culture has been showcased in an auspicious celebration organized here in outskirts of East Jeddah where more than 400 kannadiga’s families witnessed first ever official celebration of “Karnataka Rajyotsava” by Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah, the only official Forum registered under Karnataka State Government under society act, representing Kannada community in Jeddah.
Chief Guest Mr. Vishwanath Hegde, Managing Director of Inter Model Logistics, extended his great wishes to all and said he feel proud to be a Kannadiga and congratulated all on making the dream true of celebrating the Official Kannada Rajyotsava in Jeddah. He also suggested all Kannadigas to gather and celebrate other national / state festivals periodically under the banner of KNRI FORUM JEDDAH.
Chief Guests Mr. Mohammed Iqbal Yusuf, the Chief Consulting Engineer of Jeddah Airport Project expressed his great wishes of Karnataka Rajyotsava to all Kannada Community and appreciated the Executive Committee Members for their hard work & dedication. Mr. J. Parameshwarppa, CEO of State Bank of India, Jeddah- KSA, also extended his great wishes and briefed how Kannada language is very import for Kannadigas those who are leaving in KSA and abroad country. He emphasize to talk in Kannada with Kannadigas rather than other language.
The wonderful evening was started with the Kannada Song by Mohammed Kaleem and Famous Singer Mohammed Saif had made everyone to dance with delightful kannada / hindi songs. Mr. Roshan Rodrigues has presented skit program which represent legends of Karnataka like Kempe Gawda, Kittoor Channama, Rani Abbaka, Dr. Raj Kumar, Sir Vishweshwarayya, Kuvempu, Cricketer Rahul Dravid etc. Mrs. Jyothi Jeevan and Mrs. Sabu Chandran had presented various dance programs on Kannada / Hindi Songs. Apart from this various indoor games had also been organized where people witnessed several aged Kannadigas also participated along with young family members. Quiz competition, Lucky draw etc make the peoples to grab several attractive prizes.
The 5 hour long program was organized on the open ground in a villa compound of Wadi Murek of east Jeddah. Several counters of refreshment, tea / coffee, snack and delicious food catered by Asian Delights Restaurant. The program was entirely sponsored by KNRI Forum and Executive Committee Members which make FREE ENTRY to all Kannadigas and enjoy the program. Cultural Secretary Mr. Jeevan Mevada had expressed his great thanks to all for supporting with amazing figures of visitors and also announced the Tentative Date for the Mega Program on Jan 26th of 2012 in Jeddah to celebrate Republic Day 2012.
President of KNRI Forum Jeddah Mr. Mohammed Mansoor had welcomed all guests and other gatherings in his welcome speech. General Secretary Mr. Raghavendra presented the audio visual report about the achievements of Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah, where the official website www.knriforumjeddah.com was also launched and requested all to register under yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jeddahkannada/) with their email to get connected always with the activities of the forum. Joint Treasurer Mr. Sreekanth delivered the vote of thanks and Mr. Niaz Ahmed Joint Secretary managed the desk of Master of Ceremony.
