Bellary (Karnataka), Sep 5 (IANS) The CBI early Monday arrested former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) minister and lawmaker Galli Janaradhana Reddy here in a graft case registered against Obbalapuram Mining Company (OMC) in which he is a director, police said.


?A CBI team from Hyderabad arrested Janaradhana after raiding his residence. They have taken him to Hyderabad for interrogation in connection with the case registered against his mining company,? a senior police officer told IANS.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also arrested OMC managing director B. Srinivasa Reddy after raiding his residence too in Bellary and Ananthapur in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

?The CBI sought our assistance in carrying out the raids and arrests. The arrests are in connection with the CBI probe into OMC's activities in Andhra Pradesh,? the police official said, refusing to be named.
