Kapil Dev meets Chandy for a mega hospital project

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept 27 (IANS) Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev Tuesday met Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and presented a proposal for setting up a mega hospital project in Kochi.


Chandy assured Kapil Dev and his business associates, all non-resident Keralites, that their proposal would be considered favourably.

The newly-floated company of Kapil Dev and his associates for the project has been named the Kochi Medical City Tourism Pvt Ltd.

An official at the chief minister's office informed the media that the proposal includes a 1,000 bed state of the art hospital, a 50 bed ayurvedic hospital, a convention centre, and a medical research centre. It also comprises plans for a medical, dental and para medical colleges.

"We aim to provide the best medical care facilities in our proposed hospital,” said Kapil Dev after the meeting with Chandy.
