KANNUR KKMCC Celebrates 1st Anniversary

Kannur District Committee of Kuwait Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre, celebrated its first anniversary on 1st Jan 2011 at the auditorium of ECHO HOTEL, Farwaniya.  One year activities report was read by General Secretary  K.C. Haider.  Inaugural speech was delivered by Advocate Sayid Mohamed Nizar and said that he is delighted to see lot of social and cultural activities carried out within one year by Kannur committee.  Nizar said that he remembers that the distribution of one year pension fund for 33 families in Kannur took place this Ramzan can be added one of the best works ever done by this committee.  These types of philanthropic works are model for others.  He also praised kannur committee for conducting of  Iftar party  for the members and needy people in Kuwait and Kannur.

President Ghalib Al-Mashoor presided the meeting who recalled  Educational program conducted by this committee under the title “Personality Development skills” for about 70 participants and is considered as one of the milestones of our one year activities.  He added that delivering each participant with the “Course attendance certificates” also an added value., because, the attendees whose bio-data could be endorsed while mentioning about this course. Al-Mashoor said, that we were able to  honor  top rank holders of 10th and 12th  class students of CBSE 2010 examinations (at various Indian schools for the children of members of KKMCC Kannur committee) also be considered as another achievement and added his committee will continue honoring the students from both professional and high-school in the coming years.    KKP Ummer kutty, Vice President  said that social gatherings for our members also so important and the event named as “Historical Failaka Island Trip” for more than 100 people during the 2nd day Eid Al ADHAA Mubarak 2010 . He said that lot of Kuwaiti friends were also come to see lot of our activities and they were given seats among the audience as Guests of honor. Al-Mashoor said that his committee is looking to partly sponsor STATE Muslim STUDENTS Federation camp, if the State MSF/IUML decides to host such a mega event in KANNUR or  in part of KERALA STATE. He recalled his participation in 1971 MSF Camp conducted at HIMAYATHUL ISLAM SCHOOL at CALICUT while he was just 9th class student which attracted to have more social and cultural activities to carried out.

The first anniversary function also arranged warm reception to the newly elected and replaced members of Central committee. Basheer Batha (General Secretary) Nazir Khan(Treasuer), Haider Ali (Vice President) Faizal Randathani (Secretary)  were decorated with garland and each of them thanked kannur committee for hosting such warm and wonderful reception. The function also carried out farewell to K.K. Salam Valancheri, the outgoing General Secretary  as well as Abdul Majeed, the working committee who are leaving good after their 2 decades of services in Kuwait. Both of them were handed Achievement certificates as well as Plaques encrypted their names.  Advocate Sayid Mohamed Nizar handed over the memento to Salam Valancheri, while Sayid Nasir Thangal delivered the plaque to Abdul Majeed.  Majority of the central committee members delivered their felicitation speeches. Sayid Nasir Thangal, Ashraf S., Aziz Thikkodi,  Abdul Rashid, Habibullah, Iqbal Mavilad (Kasargod committee) Sheriff (Malappuram committee), A.M. Hasan (Reporter Malayala  Manorama). In the reply speech made by SalamValancheri said that eventhough is leaving Kuwait for good, he advised to take initiatives of Arts and literature activities and to build best orators for KKMCC.  He said that he has recently realized that there are new talented  people from the Kannur committee and advised they should come forward to take up responsibility and take some of the positions in the Central committee.  Abdul Majeed and majority of the  speakers pointed out that since KKMCC’s foundation is based on “as a no for profit”, the objective should be met by deliberately helping poor and do services for the betterment of our community for which only rewards could be expected from almighty ALLAHU subhana wataala.   So that all the less privileged and needy people in India particularly in Kerala would be benefited, while keeping in mind that Islam’s message to the world is PEACE  and NOT for fundamentalism.  The speakers pointed out that all the people in this world is born  as innocent and become culprits of negatively  environmental oriented  emotional diseases which could be cured only while delegating themselves in to humanitarian works and keeping the slogan in mind that to extend whatever help to  poor and needy people as long as they are alive.  Al-Mashoor thanked Central Committee senior member P. Salu whose contribution towards the betterment of C.H. Centre specially and KKMCC in general was applauded and praised in the function who acknowledged with words saying that He is not interested to appear in the media but only waiting to receive the reward from “almighty ALLAHU Subhana wataala”.
Welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by O.P. Othman and Shihab. The function was well attended  and wound up the event with dinner.
