Janardhana Reddy's bail plea to be heard Wednesday
Hyderabad, Sep 7 (IANS) The bail petitions of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law Srinivasa Reddy will come up for hearing before a court here in Andhra Pradesh Wednesday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which arrested the duo Monday in a case of illegal mining in Andhra Pradesh, is likely to file a counter to the bail petition moved by the counsel of the accused Tuesday.
The special court hearing CBI cases will also hear arguments on the central agency's petition for the custody of the accused for 15 days for interrogation.
The accused were remanded to judicial custody till Sep 19 and lodged at the Chanchalguda Central Jail here.
The CBI told the court in its petition that it wants to question them to know where the illegal mining activity took place, where the iron ore was transported, sold or exported and where the illegally acquired money from such exports are kept.
The CBI will also try to ascertain the names of the government officials who colluded with the Obulapuram Mining Company, owned by Janardhana Reddy, in the illegal mining case.
