IMA celebrates Arafat Day

Indian Muslim Association (IMA) in cooperation with Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs & IPC has organized a public discourse on Arafat Day at Masjid Yousuf-Al-Adsani, Kuwait City.

In his inaugural address, IMA President Mohammed Aslam broadly stressed the objectives of the Hajj pilgrimage, as a universal gathering for Muslims. While elaborating on the significance of Arafat Day, he pointed that it represents the highest degree of equality among the mankind.

Nisar Ahmad, while delivering the lecture on ‘Prophet Ibrahim (AS) as a Mentor & Guide’ said that Prophet Ibrahim (AS) is often referred by Allah as an example to people. He stated, “Prophet Ibrahim (AS) plays a very important role in human history, he was brought up in an era in which people were completely ignorant of the worship of one God (Allah). He
conveyed the message of Allah to his family & people who worshipped idols and he warned them so that they might fear Allah. While referring to prophet Ismails’ (AS) obedience towards his father Prophet Ibrahim (AS), he said it is our due responsibility to inculcate the Islamic values in our future generations.

BS Sharfuddin, a well known writer & KTV-II anchor while delivering the lecture on the subject of ‘the Message of Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) Last Sermon’. He quoted from the Last Sermon, “O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds..”

He further added that we find guidelines from the last sermon of our beloved Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) at mount Arafat, which was truly a Charter Of Human Rights & equality and indeed it should be the pretext of the human race on the earth.

Maulana Hafizur Rahman, a well known Islamic scholar delivered a speech on aspect of the transformation of the lives of the people who have undertaken the Hajj Pilgrimage. He stated, “the Hajj pilgrimage, like all other acts of Ibadaa (worship), contains significant lessons and goals that Muslims should understand and apply. Hajj maintains the spirit of unity among Muslims, individuals and communities. Hajj educates Muslims, and even the non-Muslims, about the true meaning of equality, which is manifested in the pilgrims' unified dress code and their observance of the rituals irrespective of their race, language, gender, or social positions.”

The Program started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Munawwar Hussain and the program was convened by Abul Ala Shaheen. More than five hundred men & women participated in the program. Dinner was arranged at the end of the program.
