IKFS Conducts Art & Calligraphy Competitions

Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society (IKFS) is conducting competitions in calligraphy for 3 languages “HINDI & ARABIC & URDU“ as well as awards for students who have scored top marks in their first attempted Professional Examinations (Medical & Engineering fields ) held in India, Kuwait/abroad during the year 2011.
Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor said in a press release that IKFS is celebrating its first anniversary on Friday, 25th May 2012, and IKFS committee wants to adopt different varieties of programs useful for the community and want to show some deviations in the mode of events while comparing to the works of more than 150 associations in Kuwait. IKFS motto is that to build friendly relationship between the people and countries globally. IKFS took the initiative of promoting Patriotism and love on their national languages of both Indian and Arab countries. This is the first time in Kuwait an Indian Association is conducting Calligraphy contest for both India’s national language “HINDI” and Regional language “URDU” Plus the strong 400 million Arabs’ national language “ARABIC”.

A.K.S. Abdul Nazar , General Secretary and Ifetkhar Ahamed, Treasurer of said that IKFS will continue to develop and encourage the drawing talents of Artists both in Kuwait and India. Expertise Competition in ARABIC as a language was chosen, because more than 5.0 million Indians are working in the GCC states and the communication and knowledge of ARABIC as a must to inter-act between ARABIC native speakers and Indian expatriate workers. Therefore, to seek knowledge in the form of recitation of the HOLY QURAN is an added value for the expatriate communities in Kuwait and other GCC countries. Accordingly, IKFS planned to conduct competitions in ARBIC EXPERTISE + Quiz. Some criteria for the participants who are willing to enroll for these competitions are outlined.

For Calligraphy competitions:

• All expatriate communities (nationality no bar) aged 17 years and above are allowed to participate.
• Subject : “FRIENDSHIP & GLOBAL PEACE”
• Participants : both gender from different communities who are on visit to Kuwait are also allowed.
• Timings: 2 hours enabling to embark the participant’s caliber in the Modern Calligraphy.
• Total words allowed in the Calligraphic competition in any one language: 101
• Language: As per the participant’s choice.
• Phraseology: Given on the spot
• Photos and their rewarding Calligraphy will be published in the Souvenir and in the IKFS website www.indo-kuwaitfriendshipsociety.com

For ARABIC EXPERTISE COMPETITIONS:

QUIZ competitions for the Public above 17 years will be held. Both General and Islamic knowledge will be challenged. In addition to HOLY QURAN Recitation + Hifz also will be tested. Readings will be attributed on the spot.

Results announcement : 18th MAY 2012.

Supervision and Judges :
Veteran artists and Experts in Calligraphies will evaluate the works.

For the top scorer awards:
for the children of IKFS committee members and patrons, Vice President of IKFS : Advocate Sayid Mohamed Nizar and Pradeep Rajkumar, Secretary of IKFS has asked to submit their mark lists on or before: 30.04.2012

For Top Scorer Awards in Professional Examinations :

Children of Indian and Kuwaiti Members/Patrons of IKFS are eligible for the awards.
Top scorers should submit their mark lists with evidence showing that they have passed their final examinations including their internships during the year of 2011 and also in the first attempt .

The scorer of Highest marks will be treated as in the first Place. Accordingly, The first place holder will be awarded with IRs. 10,001, Second Place: IRs. 5,001, Third Place: IRs. 3,001.

Certificate: Honorary Certificates and Plaque will be awarded.

Top marks scorers’ announcement: 2nd May 2012.
The first place holders are allowed to present their thesis related to their studies thru multi-media presentations for a minimum of 10 minutes.


During the month of May 2012, a grand Event and the 1st Anniversary will be convened at SALMIYA INDIAN MODEL SCHOOL, where some of the Patrons of Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society will be joined from Kuwait and India to witness the grand programs and to hand over awards for the winners and top scorers of the professional examinations.
