Bangalore, July 27 (IANS) Amid continuing uncertainty about the fate of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, Karnataka Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde Wednesday submitted his report on illegal mining.


The report, said to be around 9,000 pages, was handed over by Lokayukta registrar Kunhi Nair Moole to state Chief Secretary S.V. Ranganath at the Vidhana Soudha, the state secretariat, about 200 metres from the ombudsman's office on Dr. Ambedkar Veedhi (Road).

Hundreds of curious onlookers were outside the Lokayukta office complex, swarming with police personnel.

Moole, who was carrying a suitcase with the voluminous report, had a tough time walking from his car to the Vidhana Souda through the many camera crews jostling with each other to capture the moment.

The report will decide the fate of Yeddyurappa, his four ministers, including the two Reddy brothers, former chief minister H.D. Kumarasway and Congress Rajya Sabha member and mining baron Anil Lad as well as about 500 officials.

At the Vidhana Soudha, the scene was no different as scores of reporters and officials jostled for space in the chief secretary's office.
