Haryana to give ID cards to haemophilic children

Chandigarh, April 17 (IANS) Children suffering from haemophilia in Haryana will get identity cards so that they can avail facilities provided by the state government, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced Sunday.

 
 Haemophilia is a genetic blood disorder in which blood does not clot properly.
 
 In his message on World Haemophilia Day, Hooda said that photo identity cards were being prepared for all haemophilic children by the Haryana State Blood Transfusion Council.
 
 He said that this will enable them to avail the facilities provided by the state government.
 
 Hooda said that the state government was providing blood units free of cost to all haemophilic patients through government blood banks, free transport facility to all children suffering from the disorder in state roadways buses for travel to the nearest health facility or blood bank for blood transfusion or Anti Haemophilia Factor (AHF) treatment.
 
 Children suffering from haemophilia are entitled to get free education up to Class 10 in government schools.
