Government doubting Anna's integrity: Kiran Bedi
New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS) Slamming the government for alleging that Anna Hazare was involved in corruption, civil society member Kiran Bedi Sunday said the government should take back the national honours conferred upon the social activist if it doubts his integrity.
"Anna has been awarded Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri and if the government is doubting his integrity, then they should take back all the honours as the first criteria for such awards is integrity," said Bedi.
The former Delhi Police top officer said the government was making such statements under pressure ahead of Hazare's indefinite fast from Aug 16 to push for a stronger Lokpal Bill.
The Congress party Sunday hit back at Hazare, saying the Gandhian is "himself involved in corruption" and this has been proved by the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Sawant Commission.
