New Delhi, June 24 (IANS) A 36-year-old godman has been arrested for attempting to rape a woman here, police said Friday.

 
 "The tantrik (godman), identified as Harsh, was arrested June 21," a police officer said.
 
 Harsh was nabbed from his home-cum-office in west Delhi.
 
 Police said that the woman, 26, approached the godman as she was regularly beaten by her drunkard husband.
 
 “She saw a newspaper advertisement and approached the tantrik June 6. He asked for Rs.2,800 for an initial ritual. He also said the total expenditure will be Rs.27,000 and called her on June 21 for the final ritual," said the officer.
 
 When she reached his home June 21, Harsh asked her to have a physical relationship with him to cure her husband.
 
 “She refused, after which he tried to rape her. However, the victim raised an alarm and the neighbours caught Harsh," said the officer.
