Glenveagh Castle

The Glenveagh Castle is a big castellated manor house situated inside the Glenveagh National Park. It is constructed in the architectural style of Scottish Baronial in between the period of 1870 and 1873 and has four storeys rectangular keep enclosed by a backyard.


The castle is located on the periphery of a lake and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding glens, lakes and woods. You will find the garden in the castle in full bloom and striking during the summer season. A variety of flowers, shrubs, trees from different parts of the globe are kept on display. Looking at eh attractive Rhododendrons, Rhododendrons, spring flowering bulbs, colorful walled garden, sculpture Italianate aspects alleviate your tired nerves.


It is an excellent place for a week end picnic. The museum inside the castle is also an excellent place. Your little one will enjoy looking at the animals, artifacts kept on display.


There are also other entertainment actives like musical concerts, crafts, dancing classes, workshops and other seasonal events for the kids.

Opening hours

The castle is opened everyday, on all days in a year from 10.00 to 17.00; Only on Christmas week and on Good Friday the castle is closed.

For Adult, the entry ticket is €5.00

For Groups & elderly people it is: €3.00

For kids, students it is €2.00
