Demonstrations in Orissa supporting Baba Ramdev
Bhubaneswar, June 4 (IANS) People from different walks of life Saturday staged demonstrations and observed fasts in Orissa to support the anti-graft campaign of Baba Ramdev in New Delhi.
"Sit-in demonstrations have begun peacefully in all district headquarters towns. More than a hundred people have also begun indefinite fast across the state," said Sudhanshu Sekhar Adhikari of the Patanjali Yoga Samiti, adding the demonstrations will continue until Baba Ramdev ends his fast.
While a bigger demonstration was organised in state capital Bhubaneswar, Baba Ramdev's disciples and supporters gathered near the offices of district collectors across Orissa's 30 districts after conducting yoga classes.
Heads and activists of various religious and social organisations from across the state are taking part in the state level demonstration at Bhubaneswar later in the day, Adhikari, who is in charge of the Orissa unit of the Patanjali Yoga Samiti, added.
"Those who want a corruption-free India must support this campaign," said Ramakanta Pujari, a demonstrator.
