DDA picks lots for 16,000 flats in Delhi
New Delhi, April 18 (IANS) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Monday held the biggest draw of lots for its housing scheme to find out the lucky owners of 16,000 flats out of 7,40,000 applicants.
The draw was held in Noida amidst tight security.
To ensure the smooth running of the draw, the DDA had restricted entry. Hundreds of applicants were seen gathering outside the Sector-62 office of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC).
The draw went on for two hours and 45 minutes.
The result has been released on the website of DDA at http://www.dda.org.in.
DDA officials said the results of the draw shall also be displayed on the notice board at the Vikas Sadan office, D-Block, INA.
The result will also be published in the leading national newspapers.
Only a handful of mediapersons were allowed into a hall on the Noida premises where the process was screened while draw panelists, independent senior observers from diverse fields and DDA officials conducted the draw.
"The allotment-cum-demand letters will be dispatched through Speed Post, courier, or registered post but it shall be the sole responsibility of the applicant to check the result of the draw if a person does not get the information," said an official.
This was the first time that the draw was conducted in Noida and not at the DDA headquarters in the city.
