Court rejects Kanimozhi's plea against daily appearance
New Delhi, May 7 (IANS) The special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here Saturday rejected DMK parliament member Kaninmozhi's application for exemption from personal appearance in the court in the 2G spectrum case in which she is a co-accused.
The court also rejected a similar application of Kalaignar TV director Sharad Kumar, saying that he too should be present in the court daily.
Special CBI judge Justice O.P. Saini dismissed the application and directed Kanimozhi to appear on all the days while the scrutiny of documents is carried on.
In her application, Kanimozhi, daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, had sought exemption from personal appearance May 9 and 10. Her plea for bail is to be decided by the court on May 14.
