Etah (Uttar Pradesh), June 4 (IANS) A court here Monday awarded life imprisonment to 12 people for a dacoity and kidnapping committed ten years ago, a lawyer said.

 
 The trial court awarded life imprisonment to Sukhlesh and his 11 associates who had kidnapped the five-year-old son of Sukhlesh's relative V.S. Chauhan while committing dacoity at his house in Daspur village in 2001.
 
 "After over a month of the incident, Chauhan’s son Amit was recovered in a very serious condition," prosecution lawyer Raghvendra Kumar told reporters in Etah, some 300 km from Lucknow.
 
 “During the investigation, it was revealed that Sukhlesh had planned the dacoity and kidnapping with his associates. While committing the crime, Sukhlesh and his associates had also brutally assaulted Chauhan’s family members, including women," he added.
