Ranchi, April 21 (IANS) A Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) constable committed suicide in West Singhbhum district after killing a woman colleague who spurned his advances, police sources said Thursday.

 
 Rajesh Mahto, posted at Chakradharpur, was found hanging from a ceiling fan Thursday morning in his barracks.
 
 The sources said Mahato was in love with a woman constable but she rejected his advances. This prompted him to kill her with a sharp-edged weapon Wednesday. He then reportedly hung himself.
 
 "It seems to be a case of a failed love affair," an officer told IANS.
