Congress accuses BJP of collective corruption
New Delhi, July 25 (IANS) Branding the BJP as the "Kaveri of corruption", the Congress party Monday accused Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and the BJP central leadership of "collective corruption".
"When money talks, Yeddyurappa walks," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters here, soon after BJP national president Nitin Gadkari accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of "being aware of the developments" when the 2G spectrum corruption scam occurred in the past few years.
"BJP is the Kaveri of corruption," Tewari alleged.
Tewari's comments come in the wake of reports that the Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde has indicted Yeddyurappa's family for corruption in real estate deals and the chief minister for irregularities in the implementation of the mining policy.
Tewari said the state leaders of the BJP, whether in Karnataka or in Gujarat, bothered "two hoots for the central leadership" of the party as they knew that the "power lies somewhere else" (Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh).
