Chandy presents 100-day action plan
Thiruvananthapuram, June 2 (IANS) Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Thursday presented a 100-day action plan promising transparent, pro-poor and pro-development policies.
In an hour-long presentation at a public auditorium here, he said that as the first step, all ministers, their family members, staff, top government officials and department heads would declare their assets.
"My office will start functioning 24X7 and the entire proceedings would be webcast. Very soon, the offices of my cabinet ministers too would be doing the same thing. Henceforth, all government tenders, their bids and process of allocation of works would be available on the website the day the tender is awarded," said Chandy.
"There are three lakh people who are waiting to get their ration cards. Before the 100 days end, all these cards will be given away. Likewise, there are 4.40 lakh pending files in the state secretariat and in various departments. We assure you that all files that do not have a legal tangle would be cleared," he added.
The entire cabinet was present when Chandy made his presentation before the media, government officials and legislators, besides invited public.
