Chandy hospitalised for chest infection
Thiruvananthapuram, July 8 (IANS) Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was readmitted to hospital for a chest infection Friday after going to the assembly for a short while to hear his government’s first budget.
Chandy had been taken to the Medical College Hospital Thursday night after developing a chest infection, but Friday asked permission from doctors to go to the assembly.
“He came to the assembly and at 9.30 a.m. his doctors wanted him back in hospital because he is yet to recover fully,” said a top source close to him.
Chandy was eager to hear the first budget of his government. It was presented by K.M. Mani, who created a record of sorts by presenting his ninth budget.
Chandy’s official programmes for three days have been cancelled.
