BSK - Buntaayana 2011 entertains to packed audience

Buntara Sangha Kuwait (BSK) under the president ship of Sudhakar Shetty presented the much awaited Mega Cultural event ‘Buntaayana 2011’ at the Cambridge School Auditorium on Friday October 21, to full packed crowd.


The program started with prayer song followed by invocation dance directed by Sujatha Shetty, Reetha Shetty and Shanthala Menda. Famous dignitaries and personalities of Bunts community Folklore expert Arya Laxmi Narayana Alva, Ex minister- MLA Ramanath Rai, Entrepreneur Shashi Kiran Shetty, Professor and Principal Balakrishna Shetty, Yakshagana fame Aruya Koragappa Shetty and team, Hussein Al Shatty were the guest of honor. They along with managing committee inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp and decorating coconut flowers.Vice president Preeti Shetty welcomed the gathering.


President Sudhakar Shetty on his speech explained the history of bunts and the their contribution to the society. The sponsors of the event were felicitated with mementos during the function. Arya Laxminarayana Alva, Ramanath Rai, Shashikiran Shetty and Balakrishna Shetty, were felicitated with shawl, fruit basket and mementoes. The guest were were pleased by the warm welcome given by BSK. Laxmi Narayan Alva, Ramanth Rai enlightened the audience on the Bunts culture, Shashi Kiran Shetty spoke on his assocation with Bunts culture and also gave the mantra of success. Balakrishna Shetty entertained the audience with his humorous speech which was appreciated by everyone.


“Bantaayana 2011” was presented with skit and dance form depicting the tradition which gave the new generation an insight of the rich culture of the Bunts community. The dances included Nagara panchami, Ganesh Chathurthi Dance/Bhajan, Dassera, and Deepavali. The skit and dances were directed by Sanath Shetty, Reetha Shetty, Shalini Alva, Nalini Shetty, Kalpana Shetty, Neetu Shetty, Akshatha Hegde and Prakash Shetty. Tulu song was rendered by BSK own talent Prakash Shetty with his beautiful voice which kept the crowd asking for more.


The much awaited Yakshagana ‘Devu Poonja Pratapa’ entertained the audience with its professional perfection and comedy. The artists who arrived from India were, Aruva Koragappa Shetty, Siddakatte Chennappa Shetty, Satish Patla, Umesh Shetty Uberadka, Prashanth Shetty Vagenadu, Jayaprakash Shetty Permude, Deepak Pejavara, Prajwal Kumar and Guruprasad. Bagvatha rendered by Patla Satish Shetty was quite powerful, yet so melodiously left the crowd speechless. Boota Kola was enacted and directed by Prakash Shetty Bijantla and team.

General Secretary Guruprasad Hegde thanked the participants, Sub-Committee members, Advertisers and well wishers for their continued support. The well arranged programme came to an end with mouth-watering dinner from Oriental Restaurant. The programme was coordinated by Yadunath Alva Adyapady and well compered by Manoj Shetty and Swarna Shetty.
