BJP attacks Samajwadi Party, BSP for rejecting PAC report

New Delhi, April 29 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday attacked the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) for rejecting the parliamentary panel's draft report on 2G spectrum scam, and said both were "hand-in-glove" with the Congress on the issue of corruption.

“The unfortunate incidents which occurred in the PAC (parliament's Public Accounts Committee) meeting yesterday (Thursday) clearly indicate that the BSP and SP are playing hand-in-glove with the Congress on the issue of corruption. They tried to hijack the proceedings of PAC meeting, bypassing all established rules and procedures,” BJP leader Rajnath Singh said in a statement.

The Samajwadi Party and the BSP Thursday joined the Congress and the DMK in rejecting the draft report on the 2G spectrum scam after PAC chairman Murli Manohar Joshi adjourned the panel meeting  proceedings following deep divisions among the members.

Terming the action of the four parties as “a shameful act to cover up one of the biggest scams in the country”, Rajnath Singh said the Congress and the ruling United Progressive Alliance should express public apology for Thursday's incidents.
