Bhardwaj praises Yeddyurappa for 'hard work'
Bangalore, May 18 (IANS) Karnataka Governor H.R. Bhardwaj Tuesday complimented Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa for his 'hard work', indicating a thaw in the fraught relationship between the two.
Bhardwaj, who reportedly wrote to the central government recommending President's Rule in Karnataka, said: "I have known all the chief ministers of the state... Even now, the chief minister is working very hard to build the state. There is no manner of doubt in his hard work."
Responding to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demand that he be recalled, Bhardwaj said there was no such question.
“There is no question of resignation,” the governor told reporters at the sidelines of a function in Bangalore. “I have sent a report I have nothing else to say.”
BJP leaders met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Monday and President Pratibha Patil Tuesday and demanded that the governor be recalled for suggesting President's Rule.
Bhardwaj submitted the report after the Supreme Court quashed the disqualification of 11 BJP and five Independent legislators of Karnataka May 13.
