Panchkula, April 23 (IANS) Police here have arrested a youth who posed as the Panchkula district police chief to impress his girl friend, an official said Saturday.

 
 According to the police, Vikrant, 26, a resident of Sector 12 who runs a restaurant, has been booked under various charges.
 
 "Vikrant called the manager of hotel Bella Vista Friday and introduced himself as Maneesh Chaudhary, Panchkula police chief. He told the manager to book a table for dinner for four-five people and demanded heavy discount," said a police official.
 
 "To impress his friends, Vikrant called the manager four times. The manager got suspicious and informed the police. He was arrested Friday night when he came to the hotel with his girl friend and other friends," he added.
