Hyderabad, May 31 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday demanded an apology from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy after the state government violated the protocol during the visit of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj.

 
 BJP alleged that the state authorities did not provide a vehicle and police escort to the BJP leader when she arrived at Hyderabad airport. Sushma Swaraj travelled in the car of state BJP president Kishan Reddy from the airport to the city.
 
 As no traffic restrictions were enforced, she was even caught in a traffic jam at Lakdi-ka-pul.
 
 Sushma Swaraj later left for Karimnagar to address a public meeting to demand separate statehood to Telangana.
 
 BJP leader Vidyasagar Rao told reporters in Karimnagar that the chief minister should tender an apology to Sushma Swaraj.
 
 "She is the leader of opposition, the second important leader after the prime minister but the way the state government treated her is shocking," said Rao, a former central minister. 
 
 Kishan Reddy, however, said he would lodge no complaint for violation of protocol and was leaving the issue to the wisdom of the state government.
