Al Qwassem grab lead inthe Championship Group.
Kuwait: Friday 11th Nov, 2011 - Week 11 through the round robin qualifying stage with only four weeks to close up.
Al Qwassem takes the lead in the Championship Group with Fire Fly making an entry in at 4th position.
While Solo Sorisso moves back into the intermediate Group great efforts are being made by Petrolink, West End Watches Co to squeeze into the championship group.
Amaya finally make their way to the top of the GreenieGroup.
Kegler Strikers another team fighting a battle for a secure place in the top 4 championship group succeeded in staying in contention by cruising to a 2438-2074 walk inthe park victory over the badly depleted Alleygators Squad who showed up withonly 3 bowlers. Chipping in the win points in this all important victory for Kegler Strikers were Al Belarmino, Bobby Ferrera, Ed Mendoza, Jr Sabado, RommelGenciana and their Ace of Spades Joe White.
Inspired by the heads up pin busting of ace strikersYacoub Shatti & Ayad Amiri , Al Qwassem move up to the No.1 Slot in the Championship Group after shrugging off the stubborn Whiplash with a 2504-2370 victory. Like a thunderbolt of lightning Al Qwassem struck their opponents giving them no chance to move up ahead. Whiplash led by Aga Cuadrazal, Edwin De Mesa, Rico Baluyot,Michelle Avila & Aldin Avila couldn’t subdue the high games of Al Qwassem who scored 876-837, 775-771 & 852-764 in game one, two & three. Al Qwassem other crew members were Fahad Abul & Fahad Rughaib. Also winning the weekly Team High and Yacoub Shatti Winning the Men individual High Game for the week with a 279 game.
Meanwhile Fire Fly got the needed breaks of the game and managed to escape with a 2303-2243 victory over the hard lucked Pin Pointers quartet. After Lee Mills, Nourie Amiri, Abdurahman Swaydeh, Jassim Darwish & Abdullah Faili put them comfortably ahead with a 758-705 and 735-725 victories in game one and game two. The Pin Pointers magnates staged a strong comeback bid in game three. Spearheaded by Alfred Avila, Joe Presenta, Lito Michael, Rocky Castil, RudyDelima & Fe Ferrer gave Fire Fly a big scare as they close out the matchwin an 813-804 rout. Moving Fire Fly to the No.4 position in the Championship Group.
After a slow start, No Strikes !! pin blasters finally found a way to take advantage of their edge to defeat the tough Petrolink 785-778, 777-730 in game one and two. The dynamic 12 year old duo of Anastasius Menezes & Joel Sequeira bowled their way in the first and second game but the resilient Petrolink lineup of Farid Gabriel, Mahadi Boushery, Mishari Fadley, AbdullahKhalid & Mohammed Ashour on the brink of an embarrassing losing situation, pulled their act together and grabbed the deciding third game via 788-723 count.
Up against the slumping Time Masters of West EndWatches Co, Amaya took off without any delay and landed safely with 2360-2275 total pinfall win. Lookingfor their victory in as many weeks, Amaya four some of Liza Catapia, Marj Mercado, Blanca Mercado & Lito Mercado had a good start as they froze time masters with a 813-727 in game one. In game three, Ahmad Sultan, Mousa Abdullah, Rudolph Castelino, Nelson D’Souza & Mudassir Tungekar re wond their watches to put West End Watches Co. back in contention with an 786-752 victory but the Amaya who were simplyin tip top shape clinched the match. Moving Amaya to the top of the GreenieGroup.
Out to prove that they are worthy of a seat to the championship round, the mission of Solo Sorriso (Just smile) was derailed asthe pacesetting Spare Us headed by Anthony King, Bala Subramanyam, Colin Costa and Valentine Gonsalves eked out a 841-807, 820-772 & 773-699 victory ingame one, two & three with a pinfall of 2434-2288. Solo Sorisso bannered byAbdullah Behbehani, Ibrahim Al Jaddi, Mohammed Al-Rashed, Nawaf Al Hassan &Yousef Al-Huraibi. Solo Sorisso had a mighty drop from the Championship Group back into the Intermediate Group.
The Amazing Kuwait Federation Bowlers on the other hand dropped to the 2nd postion inthe championship group but still unreachable as they hummed their way to a 2378-2276 drubbing of Bowling Stones. Led by Andrew Frawley, Moustafa Mousawi, Mohammed Yousef & Ahmad Aloun, theKuwait Federation Team defeated Bowling Stones in game two and three 803-727 and 782-756 while settling for a 793-793 draw in game one. Bowling Stones Squad was headed by Branden Pinto, Conrad Pinto, Leandro Rodrigues & Raoul Pinto.
In the remaining match of the week,Street Bowlers was just lucky enough to escape with a 2219-2023 victory over a equally matched team iBowl. Relying on the tenacity of Amaldo Fernandes, Julian D’Silva, Shirley Castellino, Celine Fernandes & Domnic Picardo, Street Bowlers moved infront with 730-696 and 691-623 winning outing in game one and two. Down and out iBowl failed to make any headway losing game 3 to the vibrant Street Bowlers. Bowling for iBowl in this match were Kamran Shaikh, Cleona D’Souza, SameeraShaikh & Roy Vaz
