The Indian Community School Kuwait is the oldest Indian School in Kuwait celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year i.e. 2008-2009. The name itself shows that the school belongs to the Indian community residing in Kuwait and hence admission is restricted to Indian nationals . This is the CBSE School in Kuwait operates on a non profit/loss basis. The School has nearly six thousand students in four locations. Students of ICSK do not face screening prior to the CBSE board examinations hence it gives all students the opportunity to achieve results to the best of their ability. The School conducts remedial classes for those who require additional academic assistance. The School has excellent Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Labs along with a well equipped library where a large number of books are available for reference. ICSK also has a Music Lab as well as its own School Band.
Students take part in various inter school tournaments, CBSE cluster meets, etc. and are given intensive coaching during the summer vacation and during the term. Outdoor games such as basketball and volleyball along with various indoor games are available to the students. The School’s philosophy is ‘a sound mind resides in a sound body’. Hence sports, games and fitness activities are given their due importance. Special coaching during the summer vacation is provided by experts in karate, yoga, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, etc. There are also coaching classes arranged to identify and nurture talents in fine-arts such as classical and semi-classical music, instrumental music, painting and craft. The School has an excellent auditorium that can seat nearly five hundred at any given time. The facilities and commitment by the faculty have produced many outstanding personalities in curricular and co curricular activities at national and international levels. In keeping with the Ministry of Health regulations, the School's canteen stocks various food items and juice packets which are sold at nominal rates. A trained nurse is deputed at each location to provide first-aid to students. Students are taken to hospital for further care, if required, with permission from their parents. Through the school, vaccines are administered to students free of cost by the Ministry of Health officials. Moreover with the assistance of various Indian associations, establishments and individuals, the school supports a number of students who have serious difficulty in paying tuition fees so that they are not deprived of education. http://www.icsk-kw.com |
