Declare Assets Within One Mth, Labor Workers Urged
‘Ban On Working Under Sun Soon’ KUWAIT CITY, May 22: Undersecretary of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Dr Matar Al- Mutairi has requested the employees of the ministry to present their financial disclosures to Kuwait Anti- Corruption Authority (KANCOR), affirming the need to provide the records within a month in order to cooperate with the authority in fighting corruption of all types, reports Aljarida daily. In a circular sent to all sectors, he explained that the employees are required to present their financial disclosures as per Article 2 of Law 24/2012 regarding the establishment of the authority. The rules in this regard are applicable on all officials of various job titles. Dr Al-Mutairi affirmed that registration can be carried out through the website of Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority — www.kancor.gov.kw, from where they can follow the steps specified in Decision 129/2015 regarding the procedures for completing and submitting the forms. Ban orders soon: Acting Director General of Public Authority for Manpower Abdullah Al-Mutawa announced that the authority will soon start implementing the decision to ban work from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in open areas from June 1 to Aug 31, 2015, reports Al-Anba daily. He indicated that inspection teams will be sent to all governorates for inspection to ensure the decision is followed. Al-Mutawa said the inspection teams will issue a warning to the firsttime violators, after which they will re-inspect the site and charge a fine of KD 100 for each worker at the site if the violation is repeated. Security crackdown: Officers from the Special Task Force units in different governorates have conducted security campaigns in compliance with the directive of Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah and under the supervision of Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad. In a press statement, the Ministry of Interior disclosed the officers arrested 13 persons wanted by law for various offenses, those who violated the Residency Law and fugitives in Hawally Governorate. In Farwaniya, 131 people were arrested for violating the Residency Law, holding expired visa and wanted by law for involvement in different cases. In Ahmadi, 84 people were arrested for Residency Law violation and four involved in drug-related cases while 34 vehicles were impounded. In Mubarak Al- Kabeer, 34 people were arrested for violating the Residency Law and those who committed various crimes; in addition to three people suspected of possessing drugs. In the Capital Governorate, 22 people were arrested for involvement in various offenses and those who violated the Residency Law. Moreover, public security officers carried out impromptu security campaigns, resulting in the arrest of eight people found to have violated the Residency Law and five others for consuming drugs. Meanwhile, in a recent campaign, officers from Ahmadi Security Directorate impounded 49 vehicles, issued 52 traffic citations, and apprehended 3 youths for performing stunts at Fahaheel Industrial Area, in addition to 70 individuals for violating residency law, reports Al-Seyassah daily. No more deals mulled: The Ministry of Health has been contemplating on the need to stop dealing with some hospitals in the United States and Jordan where Kuwaiti patients are referred to, reports Al- Anba daily. Asource informed that the decision is based on reports from Kuwait health offices in the US and Jordan regarding the high cost of treatment and unacceptable method of handling patients. He explained a hospital in the United States dealt with a Kuwaiti patient in a deplorable manner and charged exorbitant fees for the treatment which contravened the agreement. He said the same reason has prompted other GCC countries to stop dealing with the hospital.
