55 tons of dust per kilometer fall in Kuwait: Researcher
A geological researcher at the Environment Public Authority (EPA) said that the weather phenomena, including the dust storms, have dropped 55 tons of dust per kilometer over an average of 154 days in Kuwait.
In an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Researcher Anoud Al-Qabandi said that studies have shown that dust storms are the least frequent of the dust phenomenon as they occur 26 days a year, while "rising dust" occurs 69 days a year and "stuck dust," 58 days per year.
Al-Qabandi said that human activity is harmful to the environment and one of the main causes of increased dust phenomena in recent years, in addition to natural and geographic factors such as location and climate.
