chana dal halwa

250 gms Chana dal
150 gms Ghee 250 gms Sugar 1/2 cup dried coconut chopped 1/4 cup almond blanched and chopped 1/4 cup Cashew nut chopped 1/4 cup Walnut chopped 1/4 cup Pistachio chopped Procedure: Wash the chana dal and soak in water for two hours and then boil. Keep aside till it cools. Make a fine paste. Put sugar in a pot, add a little water and boil to make thick sugar syrup. Heat ghee in a kadhai. Add chana dal paste and stir-fry. When the ghee starts separating from the mixture, add sugar syrup and mix well. Make a thick mixture of paste. Now add the nuts. Serve hot with puris or thin rotis |

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I ll surely ask my wife to prepare one for me now as I like the moong dal halwa a lot. |
